The passing away of the eminent Odia writer, poet, Sahitya Akademi Awardee, and playwright, J.P. Das (Jagannath Prasad Das) is a profound loss to the literary world and to all who admired his work. Sahitya Akademi records its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

 
   

Sahitya Akademi expresses its profound grief and deep sorrow over the sad demise of Sri Rabilal Tudu, a distinguished Santali writer, playwright, scholar, Padma Shri Awardee and Sahitya Akademi Award winner, who passed away on June 4, 2026. Sri Tudu's lifelong dedication in preserving, enrichment, and promotion of the Santali language and cultural heritage. The Akademi extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and countless admirers of Sri Rabilal Tudu.
